AVE MARYJA, Konzert für Maria Kalesnikava
Maryja Kalesnikava, who graduated as a flutist from the University of Music in Stuttgart and worked here as a musician and cultural manager, but also became increasingly active in her hometown of Minsk again from 2018 onward, gained international recognition in 2020 as one of the three female figureheads of the democracy movement in Belarus.
Abducted and missing for days during the violent suppression of demonstrations, she was sentenced to eleven years in prison, mistreated while in custody, transferred to a civilian hospital in critical condition, and then prematurely sent back to the penal camp after successful treatment. Since March 2023, she has been held without any contact with the outside world.
As of today (November 2024), her family, along with us—local supporters, friends, and colleagues—do not know if Maryja is still alive.
This concert is for her.

REISEANDENKEN
WORLD PREMIERE of Emil Kuyumkuyan
The Reiseandenken project deals with the idea of creating art in public spaces in such a way that social reflection and interaction with society is achieved. Reiseandenken is presented as a musical journey of two times approx. 6 minutes in the party bus, in which the TRIO vis-à-vis will play the music of Emil Kuyumcuyan. The journey begins in the present (Marienplatz) and leads back to the past (Waldfriedhof). Afterwards, travelers are invited to take a walk through the forest cemetery, where anonymous victims of the First and Second World Wars as well as prominent figures such as Robert Bosch are buried. On the return journey, travelers have the opportunity to interact with the music and engage with their current experience. The project aims to reflect on forgetting, death and war, as well as on people as performers of their own history.
Music composition: Emil Kuyumkuyan
Idea, concept and project management: Natasha López
