Nordic sounds
Works of Nicolai Worsaae, Kaija Saariaho, Karin Rehnqvist, Catharina Backman and Björk
The Nordic Sounds program showcases works by composers from Sweden (Catharina Backman and Karin Rehnqvist), Iceland (Björk), Finland (Kaija Saariaho), and Denmark (Nicolai Worsaae). Two of the trio pieces were specially commissioned by Nordic composers for TRIO vis-à-vis, reflecting the trio’s close and intensive collaboration with these artists.
This program aims to highlight the unique soundscapes and tonal colors characteristic of Nordic composers.
A standout feature is the trio’s own arrangement of three songs by Icelandic pop icon Björk, tailored specifically for their instrumentation. Additionally, the program underscores the remarkable presence of female composers, making it a celebration of their creative contributions to Nordic music.

- Karin Rehnqvist (*1957): Så går en dag (2000), for voice solo.
